On Friday morning, the lit side of the moon will point toward Venus. The trick is to have patience, to wait for Venus to rise. Maybe scan with your binoculars. This'll be a fun observation. It's a wondrous thing to see such a bright object as Venus so low in the dawn sky. Read more.

There are all sorts of colored arcs and bands to be seen in the sky, but these are true iridescent clouds.
