Pluto will cross the plane of the ecliptic - the Earth-sun plane - in 2018. This hasn't happened since 1931, near the time of the Pluto's discovery. Astronomers are getting ready!
It's not too late to see the zodiacal light, an eerie light extending up from the horizon before true dawn begins to light the sky. Southern Hemisphere? Look after sunset!
Tonight's moon and Pluto both are in front of the constellation Sagittarius the Archer. Just don’t expect to see Pluto, which is about 1,600 times fainter than the dimmest star visible to the eye on a dark, moonless night.
