How to watch a solar eclipse safely

DO NOT use sunglasses, polaroid filters, smoked glass, exposed color film, x-ray film, or photographic neutral density filters. DO use #14 or darker welder's glass (shown in image above), a safe solar filter or eclipse glasses from a reputable vendor, or an indirect viewing method. OR join a group at a local park, nature center, library or other location, where amateur astronomers are providing safe views.
